#sundayrevival Moonlight shadow - Mike Oldfield (feat. Maggie Reilly)

Moonlight shadow - Mike Oldfield
feat. Maggie Reilly
I'm gonna kick off sundayrevival 2017 with an 80s favourite of many of you out there, a song that I suppose most of you will know and many of you would have no problem in singing at a karaoke night, rather...! Even if it's almost 10 years older than I am, I know it quite well too and have known it for quite a long time, even if I only re-discovered it very recently. It's the oldest addition to my first 2017 playlist, so I thought you might wanna go back in time a little too! Enjoy!

She bop - Cyndi Lauper

She bop - Cyndi Lauper
I've been needing a mood boost after the weekend to start the week in the best way, and I got the total opposite: inability to focus, boring lectures and tiredness... today it's been hard, but I did my best to turn it into a productive day, both concerning my training and some side activities (mainly studying Japanese). Thanks goodness I'm having a good time with the people in the class, otherwise it'd be the death of me! Anyway, I gave myself a boost to try and start the week well: the little town I'm located in for the beginning of this week is cute a lively (for being a small town), so I'm enjoying it, even if the hotel ain't the best (last night there was no hot water and at one point the woman in the room next to mine, where ironically I am now, was screaming so hard I thought I was on the set of a porn movie)!! Tonite, after a quick look at Tripadvisor, I decided to aim for a place that cooked paellas and kebabs and that had great ratings. After a 15 mins walk I get there and... I find a nice sign telling me that in winter they're closed on monday... it's the second time already that I get hissed in this way since I started this training, dammit! Well, this time I had a plan B and I aimed for a pub I saw on the internet, which offered me an enjoyable chicken skewers with fries and a spirtz! But the best mood booster was Cyndi Lauper's music in my ears while walking! So, get a boost for the beginning of your week too!!

When you were mine - Cyndi Lauper

When you were mine - Cyndi Lauper
I'm drawing fully from my current playlists to create posts this week, and I'm glad when I do that, because it means I'm really liking the music I'm listening to! Mainly focused on Hozier, The Ting Tings and Cyndi Lauper (plus a few extra additions that I will share with you shortly), the playlist I've built for this beginning of February is one I'm really fond of. Its name is very telling: Sperendio, (literally "hoping-in-god") which is a word used in Italian when you do something without attention or not having data and information that lets you foresee the outcome of your actions with good predictability, and which is a word that describes my current stage of life perfectly! It seems like the inspired name of the playlist brought me to select inspiring music for it, and this is another piece of it that I am enjoying greatly!

Girls just wanna have fun - Cyndi Lauper

Girls just wanna have fun - Cyndi Lauper
A little while ago I started listening to new music, but the beginning of this 2015 has been a much more favourable time for retrieval of old favourites than for new explorations. Nonetheless I devoted a little time to my "new" discoveries, one of which is the greatest hits of Cyndi Lauper, which is not really "new"; moreover it has been lingering in my library for ages. But its time has come, and after a few listens I have been enjoying a few songs already, even if the thing that struck me the most is the (at times) super marked resemblance of Cyndi's voice with Patti Smith's. Is it just me or sometimes they sound alike? Anyway, I choose to post this song, which is widely popular (even if I hardly knew it, if at all, before putting it in my library). Because a girl gotta have fun. Well, a boy does too, doesn't he?

New year's day - U2

Hey guys, I hope you all started this new year in the best way possible! It strikes me to think that two years ago I was on my way to Montréal, ready to start my exchange semester, waiting for everything to change. It didn't happen, yet everything changed in a way that I was not expecting! Anyway, this revival moment brings me back to the post of today. I know I promised you a story yesterday, I will keep my promise as soon as possible, hopefully tomorrow, but for today... well, enjoy a wonderful New Year's Day!

Catapult - R.E.M.

Hey guys! Something a little weird is going to start from now on! It gets weirder and weirder the more I think about it, so I'll just explain it briefly and forget about it! I will reveal one of the little tricks digital marketers and bloggers have up their sleeves nowadays (nothing that most of you won't know already): the posts scheduling! Yes, that's it. I confess. I am kind of compelled to resort to that function. Actually, today a hell/heaven of a (little more than a) week is starting for me. By the time this comes out, I will (hopefully) be in Lyon, France, and then tomorrow I will head towards Avignon, where I will take part to the forum for culture & power. I hope it's gonna be a wonderful experience! And more exciting things are gonna keep me "chained" until the end of the month, so I am planning my posts in advance as I don't know if I will ever have time to post "live"! We start this experiment with, as usual, a little revival. They are one of the greatest bands of the last century, this is their first album and this is one of the songs on it I like the most! I feel I am gonna be catapulted in this very intense week, what about you?

9-9 - R.E.M.

It happens that you listen to these songs, you kind of like them but then for some reason (other songs on the album capture the most of your attention, you don't devote too much attention to the whole album, ...) you don't really focus on them. And then, after a (long) while it happens that it comes back. And that's it. That's what happened with this one. I have almost completed my process of listening to the whole discography of R.E.M., but I casually went back to listening to their debut album, Murmur, and I realised there are some songs on it that I remembered quite well, even if I didn't listen much to them. So that's my choice for today!

Thriller - Michael Jackson

Ok people, it's halloween night and I got a request (hello there E.!) so I really really think I can't help it! At the risk of falling into the banal, a risk I don't really think I'm running here, I would dare say that the suggestion has been pretty appropriate! In the end, tonite it's all about monsters, scary things and the such. So, all I can say is enjoy your thriller night (or the day after..!)
