The music's no good without you - Cher

Today's been a busy day (for my current unemployed standards): besides other things, spent a big part of my afternoon chatting with a University classmate who needed to interview me and ask me a few questions about music for her final thesis. I'm always happy to talk about music business models, my own approach to music, digital vs physical music and the like; I am also happy to chat with my friends, so all in all it's been a very pleasant afternoon! The theme of listening to music as a primary vs background activity emerged and it struck me a little as I already touched it with another person a few days ago. I tend to do both, but sometimes it's true that music as a shared experience is way more intense than music experienced alone (and sometimes the opposite is true). What do you think about that?

I recently started listening to the CD2 of Cher's very best and I must confess I've been enjoying it as much as the first half. It's crazy, but it's already been one year since I listened to that one! I can't believe it... anyway after a few plays there are already quite a lot of songs I'm very much into, so expect more Cher to come on the blog anytime soon! She's probably not gonna sing anything in Italian as she's doing here, but I think we'll all be all right! Gosh, how funny it sounds when foreign singers put Italian phrases in their songs!

I guess if you don't know this song by its title, most likely you have heard it around in TV ads or on the radio... I know I did, and I also know that the more I'm listening to Cher, the more I'm liking her music! I got to the second CD of her "Very best" and after a few plays, I'm already in the groove! Needless to say, this is the song I've already been enjoying the most as I already knew it from before! Get ready to get some more Cher on the way, even though it's probably gonna be next year already! I gotta start preparing my review of this very, very fruitful 2015 in music! Stay tuned!

#sundayrevival Be with you - Natalie Imbruglia

Today I have been taking a trip to Exmouth to be on the sea at least a little while. It's been totally worth it, notwithstanding the wind it wasn't too cold, the sun was actually warm and the weather was fine! While walking on the sea front, I also had the chance to listen to some good music and I got inspired for some tunes to put up here, yet none of them fit for the sundayrevival theme. I'll just keep them warm for the next few days!
One of the albums I've been listening to is Natalie Imbruglia's last one, Come to life, which dates back to 2009 (hey Natalie, isn't it time to record some more music?). The first single out of that album was Want, a song I like but I've never been in love with. The third verse of it is actually a quote from a Natalie's older song, the one I'm featuring here now, that was on her Greatest hits Glorious. Enjoy!
