Call me - Blondie

Call me - Blondie
This morning I woke up with this song on my mind, I'm sure I've heard it somewhere in the past couple of days, some restaurant or shop or else. I don't think it needs any presentation at all, so well... you can imagine how waking up with it makes me feel like today is gonna be a powerful day! Let's hope it's gonna rock as much as its premise suggests! Sing and shout at the top of your lungs, and if the world doesn't smile to you, you smile back at it!! Sing and dance and shout and run and express yourself whatever way you see fit. In your room, in the streets, at the beach, just don't care about what the world thinks and enjoy yourself!

#sundayrevival Lakehouse - Of monsters and men

Lakehouse - Of monsters and men
Another week has come to an end, so it time for a sundayrevival again! Tonite I took a hot bath (+ hydro) and, as you know, baths are a great source of musical inspiration, especially because in the bathroom where the tank is I have a CD-playing radio and in the next room my CD-collection, so that I almost always end up listening to old favourites! This time I actually decided to play the last physical CD I bought, that is OMAM's debut album. Their sophomore album is scheduled to be out this year and I didn't even know that until I found out that they are headlining a Milan festival, which unfortunately I won't most likely be able to attend...! As the record was playing, I remembered when I went to their concert with my friend B. almost two years ago and how she was trying to teach me how to sing on the way back in the car, with pretty poor success (not because of her)! Well... it was also the time when I started being schooled in singing and... ok, I won't go as far as saying that I can kinda sing now because it's not true, but sure I did improve since then, also thanks to my playing the harmonica! But that night in the car, singing la la la la las endlessly... I'll never forget about it!

Spectrum - Florence + the Machine

Spectrum - Florence + the Machine
I'm back home, I travelled full of luggage (two trolleys, something like 5 big paper bags and a shoulder bag) full of clothes, papers and xmas gifts, both mine and my aunt's... Yes, I started transferring back my stuff from Milan quite seriously, it made sense after living these last few days there with a nostalgic vibe. The moving has been quite tough, especially as I've been doing it alone, and the worst part is finding room at home for all the stuff I brought back, but things are slowly taking a new shape! Of course I wanted to live my 1-hour drive back home at the fullest, and my music pick has been, as you can imagine, Florence + the Machine! Overlooking the fact that my singing in the car was probably comparable to that of Britney Spears at her concerts, it's been very rewarding and moving as usual, even more than usual I'd say, given the aforementioned nostalgic vibe. Of course one of the songs which I was singing myself hoarse was this one, Spectrum, big feelings, powerful singing, I'll never forget my times with Florence in the car... just chills, nothing else!

Sing - Travis

Here is another classic from last decade, a good one for an otherwise gloomy sunday. I bet all of you know the song already, but it's never a shame to go back a little while. Late 90s / early 00s have been (in my opinion) a very good and fertile period for good music, for quality pop, maybe it's because I have such good memories of my life when I was a kid and I associate these tunes to that happy periods, I don't know, fact is that I really enjoy a lot of the stuff that dates back to that period!
