Recently I chose Imagine Dragons' 'Dream' as my wake up call, as I've had a new falling in love with it after Sky Sport used it as the soundtrack of its cover for the F1 Belgium GP at Spa a few weeks ago. It's my favourite song out of ID's new album I think, and in these days I got an irresistible feeling to listen to it, so I went back to listening one of my older 2015 playlists that is featuring it. Besides enjoying it and other great songs by ID, I got to think back to other great music that I was listening to a few months ago, and I realised that there are quite a few songs among them that I haven't posted yet! This little beuatiful pearl is one of them: it's the opening track of Hundred Waters' debut (and eponymous) album, a really beautiful musical gem! Shame on me for not sharing it sooner!

Long long long.... the trip home is so excruciatingly never-ending! I left work at 18 sharp and I got home after 23... Ok, I gave a lift to a few people on the way (thanks Blablacar!), but still... I'm so exhausted! I just wanna sleep sleep sleep...! During the long long trip I listened to some music, but the long long trip has been preceded by a long afternoon of reading documents and... not being very productive in general. Thanks goodness I downloaded Spotify on the computer and I could make time pass faster with some music! After listening to London Grammar album and remixed songs, I tried Hundred Waters' remixed release of their latest album 'The moon rang like a bell'. The work is not bad, even if I think that the original is still far better! This is one of my favourite songs (on both versions)!
I've sent this song to my friend B. a few days ago because it reminded me of her and her wish for a trip throughout Norway (a wish I don't really share, I'm more attracted to Iceland, which still makes sense for the purpose of this post!) and she told me she really liked it and that she went on to listen to Hundred waters for the whole next day. I think I shared something of theirs with her before, I'm not sure, but anyway... all of this just to convince you to give it a try if you don't know the band and the song, it has a record of appreciation! It is also one of my favs on their debut album, so... if you wish to make a trip in the far north, you can't really miss this!!
Hello guys! Quick post today because I have to go to sleep and be up and fit tomorrow morning, gotta start working!! I am near Treviso now, staying in a cute b&b and tomorrow morning I'll go sign the papers, get the stuff and move a few miles north towards the small town where the firm I'll be working in is located! Going to be close to the mountains, hope it's not too cold. The drive here today has not been bad, even though it got dark quite soon. Before I loaded a couple nice people in Milan to share the trip, I was listening to my new playlist and I want to share a song out of it with you tonite. After falling in love with their latest work, I got to listen to Hundred waters' debut album and for the time being I find it quite pleasing, I think that in a few more listens I'm gonna like it as much as 'The moon rang like a bell'!! I must admit today I am kind of at a loss about the choice of a song to post... or maybe not! I am being saved by one of my latest discoveries, Hundred Waters, which I believe you have already been introduced to! I wanted to post this song close to Sia's 'Free the animal' (for obvious reasons, and also as they are close to one another in my playlist), but I ended up choosing 'Broken blue' for that other post. Well, so the time be a little more wild and "animalish" has come again! This is probably gonna be my last Hundred Waters post for a while, as I have been moving on to new music (that, to be honest, doesn't excite me as much as the last lot of albums did, at least for the time being). Or maybe not. Who knows? You just enjoy them while they're here!!
EDIT: Funny how I finished to write this post more than one hour ago and then I got a moment of inspiration and started working (again) on my thesis until now! I'm even getting lost in the middle of other activities!
Happy day for me today! I think I am finally starting to get on the right track with my thesis, a clearer vision of what I have to do, support by the professors involved, plus I started getting answers by some people I contacted to interview, I'm finding new motivation to keep on with a new step of the job! That's pretty much it, plus trying out a new (very good) Japanese restaurant close to home and spending time in uni with friends reviewing stuff for an exam they still have to take. Today really flew away in a heartbeat! But it's nice, it's nice, beginning of the new month, everything is slowly starting to get back to work again! But don't forget you need to relax sometimes, and this song is here for that!
I already introduced you to Hundred Waters last week with Down from the drafters! This is its sister song (for me), as they are the couple of songs which made me notice them and then fall in love with them (thanks again, KEXP)! Seeing them as twin brothers, I'd say Out alee is the first-born, as it's the first song of theirs I ever listened to. Anyway these two songs are so coming together in my mind that they are the opener and the closer of both my August playlists (KEXP versions on the first and, inverted, original album versions on the second). Tomorrow (actually today) I'm leaving for the mountains to spend Ferragosto (15th of August, it is a holiday in Italy, actually the one I hate the most as cities get empty, everything is closed and going away is super expensive and all the vacation-places are awfully crowded) with my grandparents. I'm not gonna have any Internet there (even though I might be able to use an Internet key, we'll see) and I didn't prepare any posts in advance, so we'll see if I'm gonna (a bit forcefully) take the first voluntary gap in the life of the blog (it's mid-August anyway, I think you all have better things to do than waste time reading my posts) or if I'm gonna be able to keep posting!
For now let's enjoy the present! I've been willing to post Hundred Waters since I discovered them by chance thanks to KEXP a few days ago. This is one of my two current favourite songs of them, really love it! Hope you'll enjoy!
