Wuthering heights - Kate Bush

Wuthering heights - Kate Bush
After seeing a couple of her CDs at the hmv store I've been to last Sunday, today I found on Facebook an interesting article about a book released by the Italian photographer who shot the picture for some of her albums. All of this brought me to listen to the (few) songs of hers I have in my library, and so why not post one of my favourites here? I think she's a genius and she's one of those whose discography I really should explore further (when will 40-hour days come?!). For the time being let's stay focused on Emily Bronte's book... ah, we ain't talking about that?

Army dreamers - Kate Bush

Army dreamers - Kate Bush
Saturday night comes again, this time I'm going out (it took an effort reaching out for my "network" and finding somebody who was in town and doing something, but I made it), so I just came out of the shower, still have to dry up my hair, and then I'll meet with my friend E. and one friend of hers to go and attend a gig by a local band covering blues and soul classics... well the gig actually supposedly began a few minutes ago and we will go out in some time, so I guess it's gonna be finished already when we get there, but at least we'll get a drink and hang out! To celebrate the current wintery but classy time of year, this tune seems the right one. Hope you enjoy it, now let me go dry my hair before I get a stroke!

Running up that hill - Kate Bush

Running up that hill - Kate Bush
Lately I have been giving another try to Kate Bush by listening to her best of 'The whole story'. I have been knowing a couple of her most famous songs for a while now, and I also already had listened to the album a few times some time ago at the end of last year. I think her songs are really modern and they paved the way for the music of many other artists I love. This is one of her most famous songs I wasn't really familiar with before I started listening to her with more attention, and it has also never been one of my favourites; yet I found myself singing it in my mind and out loud in the last few days, for sure it's a great one to post and I told myself: why not? Why wait? Let's get down that road and then up that hill for no reason!

Snowflake - Kate Bush

This morning I got out of home pretty early and as soon as I left the warm comfort of the flat I started freezing. It made sense that this song came to my mind immediately, given that I listened to it (and the album it is in) a lot while I was living in Canada for my exchange (winter) semester, but also because of its meaning and title themselves. I really hope for you that you are not experiencing this feeling of "freezedom" too, unless you love cold that much of course!
