Everloving - Moby

Everloving - Moby
After one of the best days at the pool (and overall) that I can remember, I find myself here, not exhausted but quite tired, writing this entry and trying to understand how I'm gonna manage two more days of this coming weekend, two more days that look like they're gonna be as tough (and potentially rewarding) as today! I had the pleasure to have my wifey and two of her former colleagues who I had already got to know, to visit me at my grandma's pool and we spent a very nice afternoon. Then two other friends joined us after dinner and then we took a night bath, the first I did that in years and the very first time I did it with a group of people. We had a great time, I can't remember laughing so hard and so much since I don't know when! More friends are supposed to come visit tomorrow and on Sunday, so I have to brace myself: summer is coming!

Honey - Moby

Honey - Moby
Nothing much to say here (except a few good bureaucratic news), so I'm just gonna wish you all a happy day and a great summer! (Moby joins in too, hoping that your honey's gonna come back).

Run on - Moby

Run on - Moby
Today has been a bit of historic day for my hometown, as it hosted the first Gay pride ever. Being born in a pretty conservative town, inhabited by a lot of mostly narrow-minded people and not a great love for diversity (just to use an euphemism), I have had the luck of being born in a cool family and then able to surround myself with "alternative" people like me, whom I could relate to and share vision, values and good time with. It's been nice to see in the last few years that more diversity has been spreading out in the streets too, and today has been kind of the confirmation that there actually are quite a few of weird guys around here too, and of that I can only be happy! Let's not care about the thunderstorm, rain-pour and (almost) hail that I got while running back home...! I hope that these bigots and (false) "defenders of morale and tradition" will soon see that they are on the wrong side of history and that, in the end, they are on average no better (or worse) than any of us.

Brother let me tell you just as sure as you're born, you better leave that woman alone"

Why does my heart feel so bad? - Moby

Why does my heart feel so bad? - Moby
A while ago I started listening back to some Moby and a couple of weekends ago I found myself reading an article about his biographic book that is just being released and I put him on in the car while driving with my mum to my cousin's first communion. The iPod in the car was my father's (and the car too), so there were just a few famous tunes, some from Buddha Bar and this one song, that I didn't know before (did I?) and that I found myself liking quite a bit. Following a friend's suggestion that was given quite a while ago, I downloaded the whole of the album it is featured in, i.e. 'Play', and added it to my 'Pick and catch' playlist, the one I use to collect all the new music I am currently listening to. The song of course went directly in my current playlist, and tonight I am sharing it with you, hoping that it can make your weekend better!! Don't forget, people are sh*t, so protect your heart as long and as strongly as you can!

In this world - Moby

In this world - Moby
I love periods like this one, when I keep getting songs in my head, as I don't have to struggle to find great music to post on the blog! The problem only lays in me remembering to post them and finding the time to. Today I think I managed to, even if I had a few things to do here and there, such as coming back from Milan, a brunch, F1 quali, tidying up my desk to make room for new manga, shower, washing me and clothes, and I still get to have my Saturday night getaway (or get-in). This Moby song came to my mind after dinner and after immediately listening to it, I figured it would be a good post! I hope it makes sense for your own Saturday night too! Enjoy and have a great weekend!

Lift me up - Moby

Life me up - Moby
I didn't even realise yesterday was Sunday and it would have been appropriate to post a sundayrevival, but it's ok as I didn't have anything I was particularly eager to put on here. I did today. So what is that, a mondayrevival? A late sundayrevival? A regular post? I don't know myself, but this is one of the songs that I loved the most when I was a teenager, that I loved the most at the time my music clock started ticking in 2007 so... well, it is a pity, but it doesn't feel right to post it as anything else but a regular post. So it is and so it should be. My life is particularly messy at the time, I'm confused about what I want, I would like to settle, I would need to settle... I don't know, I think things are starting to spin out of control and I need to take them back before it's too late. Anyway, I needed a cheer-up, and that's the reason why since I saw this song posted on Facebook by one of my friends, I started playing it in loop today. Life me up!
(Giving that I'm moving back to Vodafone as a mobile services provider and that this song in Italy got big about 10 years ago [seems like a lifetime ago] because of a Vodafone spot, it makes it all even more sense!)

#90smusic Natural blues - Moby

Moby - Natural blues
I hope you all have enjoyed this first year of music blogging, I sure did. To further celebrate the blog's birthday that happened yesterday (check out here if you missed out), I decided to start a week dedicated to 90s music: yes, you got it right! For this new week I will only post music out of my favourite decade, the magical, poppish, trashy, dancy, alt-rocky 1990s! I take this chance to celebrate the part 2 of 'The my 90s' playlist, which I complied recently; you have already had a taste of it with the last sundayrevival (here), and I can't wait to give you more!
The first glimpse of this fabulous week that is ahead of us is one of my absolutely favourite songs ever (and I'm sure I'm not alone in this, rather...), which needs no introduction! Enjoy and stay tuned for more great 90s music tomorrow!!

#sundayrevival Porcelain - Moby

Porcelain - Moby
There was only one way to end this week, i.e. by not knowing what to post for the #sundayrevival... In this gloomy, rainy, lazy and meditative sunday, lighted up only by a funny F1 Gran Prix, it is really easy for me to linger in the world of contemplative and emotional music.
Turning to my older playlists for inspiration is always a good idea, and this time too I got the song for today, which is not in the playlist I was looking at but it has been reminded to me by it. It is another one of the 90s songs that have been with me for a long time, one I have long loved and that means a lot to me, especially in a day like this. Out of Moby's 1999 album Play, enjoy a perfect song for you, if your sunday is similar to mine (or even if it's not).
