This fine social scene - Zero 7

This fine social scene - Zero 7
Hello my dears, I am back from a 2-day trip to Guangzhou/Canton with friends, first time to Mainland China, super tiring but worth it! After a Sunday of morning rest, afternoon work and dinner out, I am ready to start a new week (am I?)! The year of cock, so let's also get ready for this Chinese New Year!! I'll leave you with a perfect tune for a chill end of the week, with vocals by Sia. Hope you enjoy!

Lift me up - Moby

Life me up - Moby
I didn't even realise yesterday was Sunday and it would have been appropriate to post a sundayrevival, but it's ok as I didn't have anything I was particularly eager to put on here. I did today. So what is that, a mondayrevival? A late sundayrevival? A regular post? I don't know myself, but this is one of the songs that I loved the most when I was a teenager, that I loved the most at the time my music clock started ticking in 2007 so... well, it is a pity, but it doesn't feel right to post it as anything else but a regular post. So it is and so it should be. My life is particularly messy at the time, I'm confused about what I want, I would like to settle, I would need to settle... I don't know, I think things are starting to spin out of control and I need to take them back before it's too late. Anyway, I needed a cheer-up, and that's the reason why since I saw this song posted on Facebook by one of my friends, I started playing it in loop today. Life me up!
(Giving that I'm moving back to Vodafone as a mobile services provider and that this song in Italy got big about 10 years ago [seems like a lifetime ago] because of a Vodafone spot, it makes it all even more sense!)

#90smusic The sea - Morcheeba

The sea - Morcheeba
Well, I don't know about Anastacia, but my conditions have worsened... yesterday is taking its toll and now I am utterly feverish and weak and aching and shivering... well, the regular temperature stuff. Spent the whole day in bed sleeping and resting, now I got up for a while but soon enough I'll be back methinks. Now it's all about listening to Lykke Li, getting 'depressish' and waiting for it to end... gosh, how I hate this! I hate the flu, I hate temperatures, I hate feeling weak and dazed, I hate winter and its freaky cold! I really really want to move to some place tropical to start working next year, I'm more and more convinced of this. Well, enough with complaining, let's talk a little music. I promised you the last piece of my beloved week of 90s music, and here it is. I had something else in mind to close up this week, but given the circumstances I guess that this is more appropriate: relaxing, soothing, you can feel the waves... I already feel better!

Teardrop - Massive Attack

Teardrop - Massive Attack
I have been thinking about this song yesterday, don't know why exactly (actually I do, it's probably due to the number of drops that have fallen from the sky), but today is a better day for posting it: more and more drops (should) have fallen from the sky today. I was supposed to go to Milan to talk with a prof and run a few errands, woke up at 9.30 and... bam! All the news saying Milan is flooded and so on... I decided not to go, but well, then I checked traffic and some cameras and everything looked ok. Yes, I did go in the end, talked with the prof (with some difficulties), said goodbye to some friends over the summer (some tears dropped, figuratively), I got a few drops while driving there, but in the end it was all ok!

#sundayrevival 50 watt - Hooverphonic

It's sunday and, guess what? It's #sundayrevival time too! I am currently watching the Silverstone F1 GP but the race has been suspended just after the first lap due to a crash and it still has to restart, so I am taking advantage of the time I have to write the post for today! I wanted to have a meaningful sundayrevival and I have been scrolling down my library to find a song that was about to hit the 100 plays goal and, well... I found this! I have been utterly in love with Hooverphonic for a long time, in particular lots of deep love are directed towards their 2007 album 'The President of the LSD Golf Club', the one that made me go beyond Mad about you and that helped me fall in love with the band, just before the historic lead singer Geike left the band. The commercial performance of this album, especially in Italy and especially if compared to the resonance of Mad about you, has been, I'd say, disappointing at best. Yet I think the album is very good, maybe even better than its predecessors in terms of overall quality of the songs and of homogeneity. This is still one of the stand-outs for me and it makes perfect sense to share it with you! Have a great sunday!
