Million dollar bills - Lorde

Million dollar bills - Lorde
Tonight after dinner I found myself with this song on my mind, don't know why or where it came from, but it did and I couldn't get it out (still can't)! I am still feeling weird, this afternoon I decided to take a nap just before 4 PM as I was feeling tired and a bit sleepy and I woke up at past 8 PM...! Not that I've been sleeping little in the last couple of nights, as collapsing in bed around 11 PM, I never woke up before 8 and got up before 10 in the morning! I guess I really have been taking a toll on my body during my Japanese trip, but I hope the rest I got in these two days has been enough, as I'm ready to get going again tomorrow (for a shorter trip anyway)!!

Hold my tongue - Sheppard

Hold my tongue - Sheppard
Dealing with people is often everything but easy, and especially when you have to deal with people that play or might play an important role in your life, stuff can get hard. I'm not really a tongue-holding kind of guy, I believe that communication is key and I usually share my (confused) thoughts with the people around me, I tend to tell them when there is a problem or when there's something that makes me feel bad. Sometimes I don't say things (straight-forwardly), because there's also that part of me that likes a quiet life (and the part of me that tries to get revenge quietly, especially by indifference), but this is more the exception than the rule, and in the end stuff ends up coming out at one point. Lately I've been having a lot of time to think about one relationship in particular and the thoughts I've been making are not that good, so maybe this time I really need somebody to hold my tongue before breaking things more than they need!!

Flying away - Sheppard

Flying away - Sheppard
Today I did something I've been wanting to do for years, and that is booking the flight tickets for my first trip to Japan! Trying not to jinx it and keeping my fingers crossed, if everything's going and I'm actually gonna go, it really sounds like 2016 is the year when I'm doing a lot of things I've been waiting to do for years, the time of my life when I finally get some important things done! Goodness knows if it's also gonna be the year I figure out what I wanna do with my life...! I'm overly excited about Japan now, even if it's still gonna take a while before I get there, and even if some of my other adventures are not going so great, I'm still keeping a positive attitude! Can't wait to be flying away!

Novocaine - Goodbye Lies

Novocaine - Goodbye Lies
I am a bit surprised by that, but I just noticed that this is the tenth post in a row featuring a different artist/band, I don't think that happens often due to my habit of listening to whole albums when I approach new music...! Anyway, good for the blog, good for you so that you get different music and good for me, as it means I'm inspired by different artists in this moment! This band... I got to know it thanks to Brian Lowe, who is a part of it, but don't ask me how I got to know him as I don't remember! Anyway he posted on Fb a link to download for free the first EP a while ago, and I did it immediately. It took me a while to get to listen it then, and even longer to get into the music, but in the end I did and, as many others in this period of my life, sometimes it really feels like this song is speaking to me! Or at least, it really does speak to the 15-year-old that I am nowadays!

"I say that it’ll pass, I say I'll be ok
I don't know why I say these things, I don’t know why I feel this way
I know I need some comfort And something for the pain
Everyone keeps asking and I just tell them all the same"

The ghost of Tom Joad - Junip

The ghost of Tom Joad - Junip
After watching the Walter Mitty movie with Ben Stiller, I got to know (better) José Gonzales, who (together with his own band Junip) took care of the most part of the soundtrack for the movie. After falling brutally in love with 'Far away', their song that I have already posted a few days ago, I approached their 2010 debut album (as a band) 'Fields' and I fell even more in love with their music, some of the songs in particular. This is one of my current favourites, it's their rendition of a classic folk song already recorded by Bruce Springsteen and Rage against the machine. Although included in their 2010 album, the song was already featured in their 2005 EP 'Black refuge'; I'm sure all of those among you who like indie/folk/rock will be able to love it too!!
