#sundayrevival Digital ghost - Tori Amos

Digital ghost - Tori Amos
At the end of this slightly tiring but very rewarding day of exploring Algarve, I found myself with a song off Tori's 'Americal doll posse' on my mind, so I went on to listen to the whole album. And I got the right inspiration for today's post. I'm not a huge fan of ADP, but I think I like it better than most Tori fans do. Ok, I agree, it's trashy pop. Mostly. And I'm not a big fan of that too (even if the song I mentioned falls under that category). What I think is that there are quite a few songs that, were they to be taken out of (this album's) context, they wouldn't feel bad in any of Tori's good albums. This is one of them and it has always been a favourite of mine, so I am sharing it with you now hoping that it will become a favourite of yours too!

Keep your shoes - Scissor Sisters

Keep your shoes - Scissor Sisters
Some days you just gotta do what you gotta do to feel better, even if that means keeping your shoes on (or having people keep their shoes on). And then you feel better. And then you go and walk the hell out of your feet to run all the errands you gotta run, and succeed! And leave your phone at the post office in the process, while you're going to buy an envelope nearby, but a nice lady notices and the post office employee tells you, when you come back 1 minute later, "are you sure you didn't forget anything?!"....! Anyway, what's done is done, everything went well, I didn't keep my shoes on but I did make somebody keep theirs (actually they did it themselves, it's not like I was in a hurry)... and everything's fine!

#sundayrevival Oops!... I did it again - Britney Spears

Oops!... I did it again - Britney Spears
Ok, in my defense I want to say that I didn't start this blog to post Britney Spears (and the kind) music. I haven't (almost never) done it so far. But sometimes it makes sense, and when you enjoy things and they don't harm anyone and they make sense, why not do them? At the end of our road trip, when we were crossing the last part of Switzerland before coming back to Italy, we ended up listening to Britney quite a bit (and then we moved to the opening songs of the cartoons they showed on TV when we were little!), especially to this one, which has never been among my favourites of hers (ok, now, I probably have 5 songs of hers and this is the one I like the least, let's put it like this), but I don't dislike it and in some circumstances, as I said already, it makes sense. I hope it can make sense to you today. Actually it's my last day off work, so going back tomorrow after 2 weeks it's gonna be hard! Maybe I need more trash pop music, maybe I need more Britney...!

Teenage hustling - Tori Amos

Teenage hustling - Tori Amos
"Dirty girl". Two words were enough to send my mind directly to Tori's "trashest" album (to date). When my Spanish colleague H. was ironically commenting on her dress of today mentioning these two words, I didn't even realise how or when or how long it took, I just noticed my mind going like "ah ya ah - a dirtai giirl". And I knew I couldn't help it and I knew what I would be going to listen in the morning. 'Cause I am a little bit (just a little bit! just a little bit!) trashy myself, and even if many people consider this one of the lowest points of Tori's career (and it probably is), I am (weirdfully) [lots of neologisms today!] able to enjoy it too. I was actually thinking about posting some other song from the album, but what the hell? This is the one I had in mind, and this is the one I'm gonna post!

You better know, you better know, you better kno-oh-ow
I'm at your door, I'm at your door, I'm at your do-oh-or.
