Wednesday - Tori Amos

Wednesday - Tori Amos
"Nothing here to fear. I'm just sitting around being foolish when there is work to be done. Just a hang-up call and the quiet breathing of our Persian we call Cajun on a Wednesday...". This is how my day started, with this song playing in the car, and I must confess it made perfect sense to me for the time being: taking it easy getting up and having breakfast while I had to come to work... I was just lacking the Persian (cat? I assume so, given that it's breathing), but I could see my own wednesday as the one described by Tori in her song, starting the day in the usual way, thinking "Well, why not?" and stopping for a coffee (I didn't do that, but just because I don't love coffee) and maybe recalling things said by somebody, things I forgot already...

Lovely day - ∆ (Alt-J)

Lovely day - ∆
Day 3 of DR holiday! Today I woke up with the awesome sound of my baggage rolling in the room (no, it's not deep!), pulled by my father who found a notice outside our door! Finally I got my stuff! Almost immediately the phrase "Reunited with my bag" came to my mind, and it was as much immediately followed by "and with you, Taro", rephrasing a lyric of Alt-J's song Taro. All of this to explain why I ended up listening to ∆ today and why I'm posting them, more in particular a song out of their latest album which came out a few months ago.
Music apart, today I took a walk 'on the wild side' (literally) with my father, as we walked on the foreshore moving out of the beach of our hotel and inside the wilder Caribbean, just to be struck by a (very Caribbean) quick rain storm, soaked to the skin and blown by the wind. Sometimes the comfort zone ain't that bad, is it?! Notwithstanding the weather (we didn't really see the sun clearly at all today), it's been a lovely day! Hope tomorrow is gonna be even better!

Funny fact: At one point, while listening to Alt-J on the poolside, a Latin music started playing quite loud so that I could hear it, and in my mind a picture (more kind of a video actually) formed with the singer Joe (in the picture above) singing the songs kind of against the Latin music, overcoming it when his singing in my earplugs was stronger than it! I was half asleep on the lounger but the scene was very vivid in my mind!! I found it very entertaining!

Boulevard of broken dreams - Green Day

British countryside
I have just got home after a long, long super fatiguing and very beautiful walk/trip! It started as kind of an adventure, with me taking a bus south-bound without knowing exactly how to understand when to get off, but thanks to a lady who was "taking care of me" and to the driver, I got it right. And right after the bus, one whole hour of walk through fields and fields to get to the next town exactly with bus that came one hour after the one I took. And then reaching the castle of the town, to find out it is closed until the 1st of April. But then I took a walk around the castle park and it was amazing, with sheep, deers and a beautiful landscape. Finally, undecided whether to walk it back or to take the bus (that actually went down all the way I walked), I made up my mind for the bus (my feet started hurting) and got back to the road just in the exact moment when the bus back was coming by. What could be more awesome than that? I really enjoyed my saturday afternoon trip and while walking alone in the countryside I could only think of Green Day going on like "I walk alone, I walk alone, my shadow's the only one that walks beside me, my shallow heart's the only thing that's beating, sometimes I wish someone out there will find me. Till then I walk alone" and so it is, I also got the post for today!
