Where did all the love go? - Kasabian

Where did all the love go? -
Kasabian
Sometimes I lose faith in the ability and willingness of our generation to commit to long term relationships. Well, oftentimes. Almost all the time. At least as far as the (very limited amount of) experience I've had goes. Lately something has been moving, but I still couldn't find any person with the desire to get to know each other first and then think about other things. It really feels like we are a generation who only thinks about the present, about whatever "urgent needs" we feel we have. And that's where a long-term thinker like me gets fucked and has to compromise. But I did it once, I don't wanna do it again. I mean, it's not like I'm really opposed to it, it's just that it leaves me nothing, I need something more, I wanna have something more. I will endure. But there is a thing I'd like to know. Where did all the love go? I don't know. Neither do Kasabian.

Goodbye kiss - Kasabian

Goodbye kiss - Kasabian
Today I've been wandering around Vicenza with my friend G, a romantic S. Valentine day sightseeing and window shopping at the mall (now we're facing the big big problem of finding a place where to eat, couples has taken all the room everywhere!). She compiled a playlist of... well let's say trash-pop (and also alternative/rock) songs that remind us of the moments we spent together, so it felt right to post something out of that playlist. This song works perfectly for today I'd say! It's pretty much the only Kasabian song she knows and probably my most favourite, we got it playing in the car sooner and so... I hope you can enjoy it too, even if it's about the saddest side of love!

Stevie - Kasabian

Stevie - Kasabian
On the wave of picking tunes that have already gone through the whole "get-to-know-it" phase, I'm posting this out of Kasabian's latest work. You might remember that in my last post I was complaining about 48:13: I didn't like it a lot, I felt like it didn't speak to me, it was kinda flat and so on... well, I'm not saying it's the best album of all times (not even Kasabian's best or this year's best) now, but I'll allow that my liking for it has sharply increased! There are quite a few songs I am feeling good about now and this is actually one of the hot spots of my latest playlist, the second one of August!

Bumblebeee - Kasabian

Bumblebeee - Kasabian
I have started listening to Kasabian's brand new album, 48:13, a few days ago and I must confess I have not been particularly amazed by it. Ok, I do like the opening single Eez-eh (by the way, I think I just got the meaning of the title today!), but I wouldn't go as far as saying I love it soo much. Let alone the rest of the album... after 4-5 plays none of the songs have been able to make a real impression on me. Ok, maybe they are growers, I should give it time, and I will. What I can't do is hide my current disappointment though. The light at the end of the 48:13 tunnel might be at arm's reach, as I have been having slightly more encouraging feelings. What I'm posting today is one of the 2-3 songs that have at least started ringing some kind of bell and, coincidentally, also the second single out of the album!

Eez-eh - Kasabian

Eez-eh - Kasabian
Quick quick post tonite, as I have to get out soon! This is the (almost) new single by Kasabian, the first single out of their new album 48:13. I must confess I still have to listen to the whole album, but after a few listens I got a quite nice feeling about this song!

Days are forgotten - Kasabian

Days are forgotten - Kasabian
Here we are, back in Milan! I came back today to finish up some bureaucracy with university and to have dinner with some friends. Weird day today! There has been this storm hanging on our heads all day long, it seems like it's ready to start a disastrous thunder and flood, but (for the time being) it looks like we're good (I even got out without an umbrella and survived without big problems). I'm remembering what it was like one year ago: I was attending my last lectures before the summer break and was waiting for the Kasabian free concert here in Milan, thus listening to their (then) latest album, Velociraptor. While driving down here I got to listen to last year's June playlist and this song was on at one point and it really made sense for me to post it, given that I posted some Kasabian songs but not my favourites yet. Days are forgotten is one of them, and finally here it is given a slot on the blog! Don't forget to sing along: Aaaaaaaaaah aaaahahahahaaaah!

Running battle - Kasabian

Chelsea, London (UK)
Today I've been wandering through London and I must say I'm slowly (even not too much so) fixing my relationship with it! I met my parents (and friends) again after a while, which was nice, and I really got the chance to get a hold of the main London spots, so that I have the time to explore thoroughly a bit more areas in the time I've got left! Tomorrow we'll be heading to the Leeds castle out of town and in the evening I'll hopefully be able to arrange dinner with some friends from work, so I guess I won't have much free time on the computer! Moreover I've been singing/mumbling this song for a great part of the afternoon/evening walk, so what better fit?
(Hoping that the lyrics of the song won't be happening to me anytime soon!)

All lyin across the ground
Try not to make no sound
When two men goin break ya down, I said
Two men goin break ya down, I breathe

Happiness - Kasabian

Happiness - Kasabian
This morning I woke up (well, not really woke up, but got out of home let's say) with a song in mind, and when it happens it usually means that that is gonna be the post of the day, even though I had other plans. And so it is today too. I really have no idea why I found myself singing this song in my mind on the bus to work, but it has become my song of the day anyway, so here is the post for you! Hope you like it, enjoy!

Reason is treason - Kasabian

Another song from my new playlists for you today! I also found it as a soundtrack to a party in a Desperate Housewives first season episode... because everything is aligned! Have a good night.

Fire - Kasabian

So, let's go on with my 2013 best! This one dates back to last summer... I had already made up my mind about getting to know Kasabian and the process was quickened by the fact that they were about to give a free gig in the Dumo square in Milan! In the end Fire was the song I loved the most at the time of the concert (I haven't had much time to listen to them before it, it's been like a week between when I started and when the gig took place) and is probably (among) the one(s) I still like the most, so... enjoy!

Man of simple pleasures - Kasabian

I'm getting the bad habit to post just after midnight, ain't I? Shame on me! Well, I must say I'm not 100% sure about today's (or, better, yesterday's) post... ok, I made up my mind. I had a curiosity about them, I got to know them thanks to a free concert they held last summer in Piazza Duomo (Milan's center) and yesterday, taking advantage from a 50% discount, I bought their last CD, which I've been seeking after (at a good price) for quite a while! Well, it was a special edition with the CD + an Italian version EP of Man of simple pleasures. They are obviously Kasabian, and this is my pick!
PS: I say hi to my friend C. who loves this one, I know!
