I'm gonna post something weird, something I don't usually post on this blog, but given that it is part of my music library, I don't see a reason why it shouldn't be here! Are you familiar with anime? Maybe you are but you don't know they're called like that: they are Japanese cartoons, usually transpositions of manga (Japanese comics). Here in Italy lots of them are "sold" as cartoons for kids, while oftentimes in Japan they are young-adult material. One of the most popular anime when I was a kid (and still now probably) was Dragon Ball and this is the opening song of Dragon Ball Z, the most popular (and best) series of the franchise. You can also hear it sometimes as soundtrack during the episodes, it is very hardcore and I'm gonna definitely enter the world of dorks with that... actually I've been living there my whole life!!
Today I've been driving around with my parents, who came to visit and we've been to a few nice little towns around here where I'm working, it's been quite a nice saturday! To celebrate this saturday night I'm gonna leave you with one last song (for now) out of Cyndi Lauper's best hit. I hope I'm not gonna be driving all night, but some people will be driving (where here is) tomorrow in the early morning, so I better go to bed! F1 seasons begins tomorrow, and even if my pilot's team (badly) sucks by now, I hope the early wake-up call is gonna be worth it! See ya!
Ok, I know what you all must be thinking: AGAIN?! Yeah, it's time again... it's time for a new musical obsession. It's not gonna be an isolated one of course, as I'm listening to loads of new music as of now and I have more loads of it queueing patiently!! Yet I'm glad I've entered this circle again, as when I'm obsessed with an artist's or a band's music, it means I really really do like it and I'm gonna be liking it and listening to it for... well for my whole life! And it's been a long time since that happened with an artist that had a large discography I could plunge into, so this makes me even happier! Can't wait to share more NIN stuff with you all!!
It's been a long time since I started listening to a new artist/band with a hefty discography, and I have kinda felt the lack thereof (ok, I have Joni Mitchell and Neil Young on my shelf, but their works are so numerous and I don't love them so much that I keep listening to their albums one right after the other), especially since I finished listening to the whole of Patti Smith, R.E.M. and U2. I've had Radiohead in queue for years and lately I decided to approach NIN too; I am actually listening to their debut albums together since a couple of weeks ago. Contrary to my expectations, I'm liking NIN's 'Pretty hate machine' way better than Radiohead's 'Pablo honey', so here is one of the few songs that I already added to my playlists!
Graduation day is getting closer and closer, just 3 days before the end of my career as a student! It feels huge thinking about it, so I'd better focus on something else...! Today I started preparing for the discussion when I'll defend my thesis, but I haven't tried the speech yet, I'll do that tomorrow. A trip to the city center is also awaiting me, I hope I'll get some nice inspiration for xmas gifts as I'm pretty stuck for now! I'm also completing a new playlist, the first one for December and I will give you this as a sneaky peak of it, even if I still have a couple things I need to share with you from my current playlist! Get back to you tomorrow with that!
This morning I woke up with a Cher vibe and, given that her best of is one of the albums I'm listening to in these days, it's nothing unexpected. The more unexpected thing (well, not really unexpected, more shocking let's say) was that I had to wake up early to go to my appointment with the teeth doctor so that I could have my stitches removed. Well, besides the usual disorganization of the Italian public structure, it was not really a pleasing experience but finally I will be able to open my mouth normally in a few days! When I got home I started playing a bit of Cher, and well... this song rang a bell already the first time I listened to it, meaning that it was probably not the first time I heard it in my life!
