#sundayrevival Strong enough - Cher

Add caption
A beautiful dinner and pleasant evening started with us singing Cher songs in a (supposedly) Cher-voice getting back from grocery shopping...! When you are with the right people, it's really true that it doesn't matter much what you're doing. It's days like these that make me feel good, even if nothing special really happens! "I'm strong enough to live without you" sings Cher, and this is probably the reason letting people spend time together because they actually enjoy it!

Dead ringer for love - Meat loaf feat. Cher

Dead ringer for love - Meat Loaf feat. Cher
Welcome to Valentine's day, the day of lovers! I've never been particularly bothered by this day, as I never had anybody to celebrate it with, and actually the idea doesn't make much sense to me; if you love a person, you love them always (in theory). Anyway, it's a good chance for people who care about each other to take some time aside and spend it with their special person. If you happen to have one who cares about you. Just make sure that they really care, beware of dead ringers for love!

Not enough love in the world - Cher

Not enough love in the world - Cher
Linking back to last weekend's posts, here is another song I can totally relate to in these days. I'm really sick of people preventing other people from spreading their love, loving each other and making the world a better place. How can they do so? Especially when they mostly follow christian teachings, which, for what I know, were all about love and tolerance and respect. Anyways, what we can do is to stop being afraid of what is different, what we might not understand and try to understand it instead of taking it out of our lives, or even sticking our noses into other people lives and telling them how they should behave and that their rights cannot be safeguarded by the state. This whole really makes me sick and I really think that there's not enough love in the world!

The music's no good without you - Cher

The music's no good without you - Cher
Today's been a busy day (for my current unemployed standards): besides other things, spent a big part of my afternoon chatting with a University classmate who needed to interview me and ask me a few questions about music for her final thesis. I'm always happy to talk about music business models, my own approach to music, digital vs physical music and the like; I am also happy to chat with my friends, so all in all it's been a very pleasant afternoon! The theme of listening to music as a primary vs background activity emerged and it struck me a little as I already touched it with another person a few days ago. I tend to do both, but sometimes it's true that music as a shared experience is way more intense than music experienced alone (and sometimes the opposite is true). What do you think about that?

Dark lady - Cher

Dark lady - Cher
Greetings to you, my people, from the warm city of Abu Dhabi, a.k.a. the Arab New York (by us, as it really looks like the Big Apple sometimes)! I'm enjoying a nice and well-deserved honeymoon with my wifey about one year after our trip to Marrakech blew up because of me being sick. Not that this time I'm feeling so well, my cold is here with me and is not leaving, but I hope that the sun will make it go away soon! We're having a good time for now, and we are already trying to understand more about the Arab world: why do the ladies here all wear dark clothes in your opinion? We have our own idea...!

Dov'è l'amore? - Cher

Dov'è l'amore - Cher
I recently started listening to the CD2 of Cher's very best and I must confess I've been enjoying it as much as the first half. It's crazy, but it's already been one year since I listened to that one! I can't believe it... anyway after a few plays there are already quite a lot of songs I'm very much into, so expect more Cher to come on the blog anytime soon! She's probably not gonna sing anything in Italian as she's doing here, but I think we'll all be all right! Gosh, how funny it sounds when foreign singers put Italian phrases in their songs!

The shoop shoop song (it's in his kiss) - Cher

The shoop shoop song - Cher
I guess if you don't know this song by its title, most likely you have heard it around in TV ads or on the radio... I know I did, and I also know that the more I'm listening to Cher, the more I'm liking her music! I got to the second CD of her "Very best" and after a few plays, I'm already in the groove! Needless to say, this is the song I've already been enjoying the most as I already knew it from before! Get ready to get some more Cher on the way, even though it's probably gonna be next year already! I gotta start preparing my review of this very, very fruitful 2015 in music! Stay tuned!

Just like Jesse James - Cher

Just like Jesse James - Cher
Graduation day is getting closer and closer, just 3 days before the end of my career as a student! It feels huge thinking about it, so I'd better focus on something else...! Today I started preparing for the discussion when I'll defend my thesis, but I haven't tried the speech yet, I'll do that tomorrow. A trip to the city center is also awaiting me, I hope I'll get some nice inspiration for xmas gifts as I'm pretty stuck for now! I'm also completing a new playlist, the first one for December and I will give you this as a sneaky peak of it, even if I still have a couple things I need to share with you from my current playlist! Get back to you tomorrow with that!

Love and understanding - Cher

Love and understanding - Cher
I have been postponing this post for a while now, as I had more fitting songs to share with you, but finally its time has come! I'd say that my relationship with Cher's music has kicked off great, I am really enjoying her collection and many songs sound familiar, even if I don't remember of ever listening to them... well, whatever. This is another girl that struck me quite soon and I already find myself singing it out loud with satisfaction when it plays! I hope I'm gonna restrain myself a bit tomorrow on the plane... yeah, about that, the news is that I'm going to visit my musically inspiring friend in Bruxelles for the weekend, leaving tomorrow. I hope I'll be able to post regularly over the weekend, regularly meaning every day, but I can't assure that...! Worst case scenario, I'll be back with you on Monday!

If I could turn back time - Cher

If I could turn back time - Cher
This morning I woke up with a Cher vibe and, given that her best of is one of the albums I'm listening to in these days, it's nothing unexpected. The more unexpected thing (well, not really unexpected, more shocking let's say) was that I had to wake up early to go to my appointment with the teeth doctor so that I could have my stitches removed. Well, besides the usual disorganization of the Italian public structure, it was not really a pleasing experience but finally I will be able to open my mouth normally in a few days! When I got home I started playing a bit of Cher, and well... this song rang a bell already the first time I listened to it, meaning that it was probably not the first time I heard it in my life! Anyway, hope you'll enjoy!

#sundayrevival Believe - Cher

Believe - Cher
Well... this is gonna be one of the most enjoyed sundayrevivals I think, especially by those pop and dance lovers out there who never despise a nice good song from the 90s! I have been developing my relationship with Cher especially thanks to my thesis: my knowledge of her songs moved from just this one and Strong enough (which are so similar I tend to swap them) to something more, as I am now approaching (one of) her best of collection(s). I mentioned my thesis because one of the things I'm most proud about it is that I have inserted a screenshot of the price category division of one of hers concerts in the US. And of course at the top of the image there is her, wearing a police-hat. I mean, how cool is it to have a sorta S&M Cher in your master thesis?!
