Evil eye - KT Tunstall

Evil eye - KT Tunstall
I am a weird one, and that's not news, you will know it if you have stumbled on my ranting up here in the past. I embrace my weirdness, as it's one of the traits of my personality I like the most, and I am about to do exactly this now! I am giving you this song as my own personal summer hit. I know that pretty much no one has given a damn about what KT has been doing in the last... 10 years? Maybe a little less so? Well, I am not no one, and I kept on following her. She actually recorded and released quite a few cool things in the last half decade, and she isn't stopping. Yep, KT is coming out with a brand new EP and this is her new single. Which has like a little more than 100k views on YouTube. Well, you guys out there who contributed to the 100k, you already know what I am talking about. All of you who didn't, I strongly suggest you spend 3 minutes of your time finding out what's gonna surely be your favourite song for this summer 2016!!!

Talula - Tori Amos

Talula - Tori Amos
Today is the 22nd of January, not a particularly special day for many of us, but a very particular day for one of what I believe is one of the best albums of the 1990s, i.e. Tori Amos's 'Boys for Pele' who turns 20 today! I personally wouldn't say it's my favourite album of hers, but I think it's the most powerful one, the one that goes deepest and darkest, the one I immediately go back to when I'm feeling down and depressed. Don't mistake me, many of the songs are enjoyable even when you're not feeling that bad and it still is a great album, but personally I have been able to feel it most strongly during the darkest times of my life. Talula has always been one of my favourite songs off it and is one of those you can enjoy even if you're feeling happy, as I am now!

Echoes in rain - Enya

Echoes in rain - Enya
I have known that I am behind schedule with my posting with respect to my playlists and tonight I decided to quantify my delay! I have noted some songs off the last playlists of 2015 that have not been featured here yet and that really need to imho; all in all I have a week worth of posts, which not so bad, I can make it... (if I don't keep skipping posts or posting "older" songs that really really need to stay here)!! Well, in case I'll have to resort to some double posting, which would not be half bad given the name of the blog! Anyway, I'm just back from Milan where I spent the whole day, we went out for dinner to celebrate my mother's birthday and it's been nice (and cold). Will be back in town next week for a few things that need to done and a few people that need to be seen! For now I'll just leave you with one of my favs off Enya's new album, which is the beautiful 'Echoes in rain'! Enjoy!

Alive - Sia

Alive - Sia
I've been waiting for a while to post this song, as I wanted to post it with the official video. The official video came out today and I'm not a big fan of it. Ok, I know 'Chandelier' was hard to top, but I have been pretty disappointed with this new one. Then I found out there was a lyrics video I missed out, which I like way better than the one released today (and I'm not the only one on the big Y). Anyway I like this son and have big expectations for the whole new album, which is supposed to be released next January. The second song released recently out of it is quite good too, so let's keep it up for Sia!
Turning points.

Fire under my feet - Leona Lewis

Fire under my feet - Leona Lewis
Soon enough Leona is gonna be out with a new album, and I missed out her new single release while I was spending my (first) two weeks in Thailand last month. Luckily I quickly caught up and here it is, a very nice part of my current playlist! I like the turn that Leona's music has taken, with this kind of dance r&b, on the shadow of 'Forgive me', and I'm sure she's gonna have the usual (nice) ballads too on the album. Can't wait for it to be out, in the meanwhile let's enjoy a great track for the summer that has finally come!!

#sundayrevival Numb - U2

Numb - U2
Hello folks, I am finally on transfer near Venice, more exactly in Marghera, one of the two on-the-ground little towns just opposite of Venice! Tomorrow I'm gonna start my training and today, after a lunch at my grandparents', has been mainly devoted to getting there and setting up. I think I realised (rather, confirmed) that travelling is going to suck up a lot of time (and money) during my next few weekend, unless I decide not to go back home... well, we'll see what the least painful alternative will be! I am a bit excited to start the intensive training tomorrow, I'll meet new people, hope they're nice, and it's the beginning... of a new beginning! Even if I'm feeling a bit stranded, not having a kitchen, not knowing where I will stay in the next few weeks, not having a proof that I will get some kind of reimbursement (even if I strongly hope so, as this course is having me and my parents hemorrhage money worse tha university)... well, I'm trying to be positive! I've already paid a visit to a mall they recently built near here, and I really like it, I don't why but I always find malls comforting! Moreover, it's very close to where I will have lectures, so it's gonna be a favourite spot I guess!
Ok, sometimes I forget that this is a music blog and I get lost telling about other crap, so: today I've been listening to a U2 playlist I recently created with my favourite songs of them; Numb is one of the songs of theirs I absolutely love and I think greatly described my feelings while I was driving on the highway towards here... veeery boring! It feels a bit like cheating as I don't think I have been knowing this song for long, but it sounded familiar when I approached it and given that it's from the early 90s... it makes for a good sundayrevival!

Run - San Cisco

Run - San Cisco
Here we are, the craziness is slowly settling and this are going back to normal, yeah normal, because as of now I am not feeling any different, even if I'm not a student anymore! Well, it really is true that labels are just labels, what matters is what's inside. Anyway, being back to 'normality' I am finally finding the time to post the last song I wanted to share with you out of my older playlist. San Cisco are back, this is the first single out of their coming album, which I guess will be released at the beginning of next year, if I remember correctly. I must admit that at first I didn't really like the song, and actually it never occurred to me that I started liking it, but I did. Notwithstanding this mysterious process, what matters is the outcome, so here is their new song, hoping for a great sophomore album!! Enjoy the 80s-like visual effects in the meanwhile!

If I lose myself - OneRepublic

If I lose myself - OneRepublic
Well, I think you have seen this coming: tomorrow is concert's day, the last time for this 2014! Of course it's OneRepublic time and I have been listening to them while driving to Milan. Notwithstanding the fact that I didn't really fall in love with their latest album Native, at least not as much as with its two predecessors, the one song I have on my mind now is one of the first released out of it. I wanted to pick an older song and make a sundayrevival post out of it, but I just decided to build on the momentum and to give Native another chance! After releasing Feel it all (which I really liked) a lot in advance with respect to the album, they released this song as the first single, right before the release of the album. At first I have not been particularly keen on it, and still it's not nearly among my favourites of them, but... it's the one I'm singing in my head now!

Staring at the sun - Anastacia

Will I ever post this? I've been wondering that for a long time until... now (well, a few minutes ago) I found out that the video for this song HAD been actually released! I've been waiting for it for the longest time!! I can't believe that us fans didn't get no notification of the release of the video, which in fact has very few views on YouTube too... Ok, I must admit it, the video itself ain't great, but at least it would've been nice to know it was out there... anyway, after months (and I'm not joking, it's really been since that time last summer when I told you that I had many songs ready for posting) of having this one as draft, it is finally ready to go out! Well, it won't mind waiting a few hours more, as I have just published the last post about Sheppard, so this will see the light a short while after the time of writing, hope you enjoy the song, it's quite great, video... well, it's meh, but let's say it can be liked.

Well, a little more time has past, as I also posted the Adam Lambert song this (yesterday, actually) afternoon. But FINALLY the time has come for Anastacia!! Let's go!!

Home - Edward Sharpe & the Magentic Zeros

Home - Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros
As usual, I didn't mean to post this today... until now! I think I got to listen to the Magentic Zeros while choosing which songs of Ellie Goulding's debut album, which I'm getting to know now, to put in my next playlist; one of them is called Home and, reminding me of this, one, brought me to start a random play at Up from below! Home was actually the last song just before Come in please (my absolute fav, which I already posted a few months ago, at the end of last year actually, check back the post clicking on the link!) and well... it seemed right to post it, given that it's the first song of theirs I fell for and still one of my favs!

Ultraviolence - Lana del Rey

Guess who is the singer featured in today's post? Wow, you're amazing! Not only that... it's also me being 'a bit' redundant. But, come on... it's a brand new video, it's the title track of what is probably gonna be my favourite album of the year, it's right on cue! The negative side is that I'm running out of Ultraviolence songs, the positive one is that it means I kinda posted almost all of them, at least all of the good ones! Back to the title track: it has been one of the first songs to find its way into me, together with the opening track and its predecessor on the album (Cruel world), which I have posted more than one month ago. Circumstances and loads of other (Lana and not Lana) songs I started to love in the meanwhile have brought me to not posting it until now, which (as I believe) has been a nice touch of destiny, as the official 'Ultra video' has been released yesterday. So, what better moment?

Ultraviolence - Lana del Rey

I love you the first time
I love you the last time
Yo soy la princesa
Comprende mis white lines?

Cause I'm your jazz singer
And you're my cult leader
I love you forever
I love you forever...

PS: I love the quite quote to 'Fucked my way up to the top' in the last refrain ("Lay me down tonight in my linen and curls, Lay me down tonight Riviera girls"), I think I subconsciously noticed it already but I took full conscience of it just now!
