#sundayrevival Music - Madonna

Music - Madonna
Hello dear readers, sorry for being away from the blog again, I’ve taken a 20-some hours trip to Milan to celebrate a friend’s birthday and I took the chance to say goodbye to some people I might not be seeing for a good amount of time. I can’t complain about goodbyes as the life I’ve chosen for myself in this time of my life is not one of stability, so goodbyes have to be part of the game! The idea of not having close people around might be hard, but as of now I am more excited and eager to go explore, meet new people and stuff! New music is on my to-do list too of course, but today it’s Sunday so it’s time to look back, and what better looking back than one of my favourite songs by the singer whose music was on my mind when I got up this morning?!

Down by the river - Neil Young & Crazy Horse

Down by the river - Neil Young
One of the songs I expected Neil Young (and his current band) to play during his Milan concert was this great tune featured on his sophomore solo album (the first one he made in partnership with Crazy Horse to be precise). Unfortunately the tune was not on the final setlist, but I was still amazed to see them play 4 or 5 longer songs (each one between 7 and 10 minutes long) straight in the second half of the set. Unfortunately for me, most of them were from more recent albums that I hadn't got the chance to listen to yet, but I can't complain too much about the setlist, the first half has been amazing!

"Be on my side, I'll be on your side baby..."

Homegrown - Neil Young

Homegrown - Neil Young
Hello my dears, sorry for being away once again, I am trying to enjoy my summer time at best and I've been having some trouble accessing the Internet at home too (and not only that, also Pokemon GO has been a big deal of trouble, but more on that some other time). Today I came to Padua to visit my dear wife and we took a trip to the sea (if you can call it that). Last night I've been to Neil Young (+ Promise of the Real) concert in Milan and I've enjoyed it quite a bit, it's been 3 hours straight of music and it felt like he was 26 years old and I was the one in his 70s, not the opposite! The band came back for an encore and quite surprisingly they played this song, which I've been having on my mind for quite a while for no reason (call it destiny or coincidence), so I'm sharing it with you now!

Like I would - Zayn

Like I would - Zayn
Today I found myself singing a couple of songs in my head, i.e. 'Trespassing' by Adam Lambert and 'Boulevard of broken dreams' by Green Day, but both of them have already been posted on the blog, so no chance to get inspiration from them... I'm gonna have to revert to something I've been listening to more recently, and well, I guess the apple doesn't fall very far from the tree, as Zayn's music genre isn't that much far away from the other singers I mentioned, especially Adam. I'm sure you guys are gonna be just fine with this one too, it's the first song of his debut solo album that stuck with me.

Overtaken - One Piece OST

Overtaken - One Piece OST
I have been following One Piece since it has been broadcasted on the Italian TV, translated and adapted (cartoons are for kids in the Western world, it's not like Japan...), but it hasn't been since a few years later, during the golden streaming era (we miss you, Megavideo) that I have started watching it in Japanese with subtitles. I have been starting over with it, and it's been a great journey! Now, given that I like to watch full sagas together so that I can understand something about the plot, I only take it on every two/three years or so. I just did now, as I need to catch up with the latest two sagas and well... maybe it's not as great as it used to be, but it's still quite enjoyable! It's the best anime around for a reason, isn't it? The soundtrack is a big part of its greatness too (this tune has just become my new cellphone ringtone, just sayin'...)!!

El garrotin - Hevia

El garrotin - Hevia
It's been a tough weekend, as I expected, but also a very giving one, once again following my expectations! Given that I'm soon gonna go away for quite a while, I am trying to do my best and create opportunities to spend time with the people that matter to me and cherish it. Today I have not been feeling 100% well, it's probably just the humid heat and the need to recover some energies after such few demanding days! But don't worry, I'm still here!

Everloving - Moby

Everloving - Moby
After one of the best days at the pool (and overall) that I can remember, I find myself here, not exhausted but quite tired, writing this entry and trying to understand how I'm gonna manage two more days of this coming weekend, two more days that look like they're gonna be as tough (and potentially rewarding) as today! I had the pleasure to have my wifey and two of her former colleagues who I had already got to know, to visit me at my grandma's pool and we spent a very nice afternoon. Then two other friends joined us after dinner and then we took a night bath, the first I did that in years and the very first time I did it with a group of people. We had a great time, I can't remember laughing so hard and so much since I don't know when! More friends are supposed to come visit tomorrow and on Sunday, so I have to brace myself: summer is coming!

Roses are red, violets are blue and the grass is green (and I am planning to have a busy weekend)! Good night!

BeFoUr - Zayn

BeFoUr - Zayn
Never have I ever thought I would be posting something like this on this blog. And yet here I am. Being well in my 20s when stuff like OneDirection and Justin Bieber (am I sure about that?) came around in the spotlight, I was old enough to be on the critical side of boy bands and trash-pop music for teenagers, especially as these recent acts play a little bit too heavy on synths and electronically-created sounds for my taste (we all love our own age's Backstreet Boys & Spice Girls, don't we?!). I've listened to a couple of Bieber songs and I would not care to repeat the experience. Pretty much the same goes for OneDirection: I was not disturbed by their music, but it wasn't something I was (and am) interested in exploring further. And here I found myself listening to Zayn Malik's debut solo album. Why? Well... I could say I don't why but it wouldn't be true. I know why, but I'm not gonna tell you my reason here, as it wouldn't be professional!! Let's just say I brought out the teenager that is inside of me, and he actually didn't dislike what he listened to. To the point that I am here, doing this. I hope you can forgive me for that: "I've done this BeFoUr, but not like this".

Evil eye - KT Tunstall

Evil eye - KT Tunstall
I am a weird one, and that's not news, you will know it if you have stumbled on my ranting up here in the past. I embrace my weirdness, as it's one of the traits of my personality I like the most, and I am about to do exactly this now! I am giving you this song as my own personal summer hit. I know that pretty much no one has given a damn about what KT has been doing in the last... 10 years? Maybe a little less so? Well, I am not no one, and I kept on following her. She actually recorded and released quite a few cool things in the last half decade, and she isn't stopping. Yep, KT is coming out with a brand new EP and this is her new single. Which has like a little more than 100k views on YouTube. Well, you guys out there who contributed to the 100k, you already know what I am talking about. All of you who didn't, I strongly suggest you spend 3 minutes of your time finding out what's gonna surely be your favourite song for this summer 2016!!!

#sundayrevival Groovejet (If this ain't love) - Spiller (feat. Sophie Ellis-Bextor)

Groovejet - Spiller (feat. Sophie Ellis-Bextor)
Today I spent a nice day at the pool with a friend from University who came to visit from Milan, the weather forecast was quite unstable and totally untrustworthy in the past few days, but the sky turned out to be painted with a great shade of blue and no clouds! Going back and forth on my father's car and while hanging out at the pool I have been listening to my 2000s favourites playlist (part 1) and of course I couldn't not pick something out of it for today's sundayrevival! (And yet I did, as this song is featured in the part 2). I picked this 2000 hit that the radios couldn't play often enough when it rocked the charts, and I never complained about listening to it, ever!

Young fashioned ways - Koko Taylor

Young fashioned ways - Koko Taylor
Two years before dying at the remarkable age of 81, Koko Taylor sang "I may be getting older but I've got young fashioned ways"! I mean... wow! I already feel old at 26, actually I've been feeling old since I can remember. I have always bonded better with adults when I was a kid, I disliked a good bunch of people my age during teenage years as they were doing stupid things, now my body is mostly broken... and I'm lazy, I'm not a party animal, I live well in my own little corner of the world (except when I often take up my bag and travel around the other corners of the world). What I'm trying to say is that I've never felt like I've got young fashioned ways, even if it feels a tiny little bit like I'm living my teenage now, with a little delay...! In the end, being old or young, feeling young or old, each one of us has their own way of living life and looks for different things so as to be happy, don't we?

Beautiful night - Lemolo

Beautiful night - Lemolo
Everybody keeps complaining that I stay up late and wake up late, I don't know what to say about that, my body works better with this kind of sleep cycle and when I don't have any timed business to care about (like work, lectures, appointments and else), I don't see why society should condemn me for this! Don't we all have the right to feel better? Or as good as we can? And then there are some advantages for society too. For instance, when your parents have an early flight and need to leave for the airport at 4 in the morning, it's quite useful to have somebody awake who is driving you there, isn't it? Let's enjoy this and many other beautiful nights!

Honey - Moby
Nothing much to say here (except a few good bureaucratic news), so I'm just gonna wish you all a happy day and a great summer! (Moby joins in too, hoping that your honey's gonna come back).

Fresh off the boat - Nelly Furtado

Fresh off the boat - Nelly Furtado
My goodness, I haven't been posting for 5 days straight and I didn't even realise it! I just thought I missed a couple of days... anyway, quite a few things have happened in these past few days. First of all I have to mention the most recent, i.e. Island victory over England in Euro 2016, a great and unforgettable sports moment! Then again, do I need to speak about the Game of Thrones season final? I stayed up until 6 in the morning to wait for it to be available and watch it and it's been worth every second of my time! Put in a few days enjoying the summer sun at my grandma's pool, some sightly disappointing news about my future that will require me to make an extra effort, nothing exceptionally relevant anyways. And of course summer music, which is what I'm leaving you with tonight, fresh off the boat!

The orange monkey - PJ Harvey

The orange monkey - PJ Harvey
Today I finally have been able to open the swimming season at my grandmother's pool, where I spent a big chunk of my past summers. I can hardly remember later openings than the 22nd of June, except maybe for the shitty 2014 summer, which I hope won't repeated this year, even if this June has not been far from the one of two years ago so far. Today the weather has been perfect and I enjoyed a really, really good day there. Then I came back home to enjoy a little bit of football (Euro 2016), a couple nice matches in the late afternoon and then with my parents we went at some friends' house to watch the Italy match together. Disappointing (and meaningless) output of that match, not that I care as I am no strong Italy supporter! Closing my day with music, after a couple of Game of Thrones older episodes, I am sharing with you the latest single off PJ's new album. Good night!

Us - Regina Spektor

Us - Regina Spektor
I am hating Italian bureaucracy and the need for sending paper copies of official documents... we are in goddamn 2016, can't we find a more efficient way to handle things?! Anyway, tomorrow I'm going to have to undergo a(n avoidable) trip to Milan to make sure that my damn University sends some damn documents with a damn courier. I hate deadlines when I have to have things delivered and it doesn't depend on me, I hate letting other people's inefficiencies fu*k up my time and my life, but anyway... let's see the good side of things, I hope I'm gonna spend a nice afternoon in Milan. Since Vilnius I have been a little bit stuck on Regina Spektor and have added a couple of her songs to my current playlist. This one in particular has been in my head for the past week or so, and today made my day better, so I guess it's time for me to share it with you!

#sundayrevival Sprawl II (Mountains beyond mountains) - Arcade Fire

Sprawl II (Mountains beyond mountains)
- Arcade Fire
Yesterday I thought I would be posting something by Arcade Fire for this sundayrevival, but don't ask me why, as I really can't remember...! Whatever, I thought I would and I will. Staying on topic with yesterday's events (the first Gay Pride in my home town, followed by today's news that we are going to have a left-wing mayor for the first time since... ever), I remember I thought about Regine dancing with ribbons in the video of this song (maybe that's why I thought about Arcade Fire) and that is a thing I always feel like doing too while listening to this song. Not being able to move graciously (at all), I'd better refrain from that, but who knows whether sooner or later I will give way to my ideas...?

19 Jun 2016

Run on - Moby

Run on - Moby
Today has been a bit of historic day for my hometown, as it hosted the first Gay pride ever. Being born in a pretty conservative town, inhabited by a lot of mostly narrow-minded people and not a great love for diversity (just to use an euphemism), I have had the luck of being born in a cool family and then able to surround myself with "alternative" people like me, whom I could relate to and share vision, values and good time with. It's been nice to see in the last few years that more diversity has been spreading out in the streets too, and today has been kind of the confirmation that there actually are quite a few of weird guys around here too, and of that I can only be happy! Let's not care about the thunderstorm, rain-pour and (almost) hail that I got while running back home...! I hope that these bigots and (false) "defenders of morale and tradition" will soon see that they are on the wrong side of history and that, in the end, they are on average no better (or worse) than any of us.

"Some people go to church just to sit in the fire trying to make a date with a neighbour's wife
Brother let me tell you just as sure as you're born, you better leave that woman alone"

Powerless - Nelly Furtado

Explode - Nelly Furtado
I won't talk about my opinion on Nelly Furtado's latest releases as the few things I got on my hands (or better in my ears) made me believe that we totally lost her. I loved her debut singles, songs that are part of my early teenage, then lost her a little bit and starting loving her again with 'Loose' and her new mainstream success. Ok, that album was already quite "poppish", but still greatly likeable in my taste. So instead of going forth, I decided to go back and explore her earlier releases, of which I only knew a handful of the more famous songs. The first one is her 2003 sophomore 'Folklore', and this is one of my favourite songs on it!

Bad rooster - Koko Taylor

Bad rooster - Koko Taylor
Tonight I decided to shake you up with a little blues, maybe it can be a good thing for this weird summer that is beginning! I am spending a few days in Milan, with some things going well and others a little less so, and the same goes for the weather, which is as changing as if we were in any British coast town, a thing that - I must confess - doesn't entertain me. At all. Damn summer rain!

14 Jun 2016

On again, off again - Lemolo

On again, off again - Lemolo
I am back from my latest trip, back in Milan for a few days and how does my beloved home country welcome me? Well, with a tropical thunderstorm of course. Thanks, my dear. I have by now accepted the fact that this summer is going to suck as much as 2014 did, so I guess I better find a place where to move next month so that I can enjoy some sunlight...! Anyway, I am sharing with you another beautiful song off Lemolo's debut (full) album, the 2012 'Kaleidoscope'. A great duo they are, I love their music more and more! Something good is happening in this summer time hopefully, at least under the musical discovery point of view!

Chemo limo - Regina Spektor

Chemo limo - Regina Spektor
'Soviet kitsch' is doubtlessly my favourite album by Regina Spektor and today, while walking through the streets of Vilnius in the late afternoon, tired after exploring the town and searching for a sunny spot where to lay and rest, I turned on my iPod for the first time since I had got out in the morning and, don't know why, I decided to listen to Regina and to this album. Sitting on a bench in the sun, distractedly looking at people passing by, I paid particular attention to the lyrics of the songs (a thing I don't often do) and realised once more how beautiful this album is indeed. This song is one of my favourites off it and the one I deem most representative of the album and its spirit. In a few words, it's a masterpiece. It is.

#sundayrevival No need to argue - The Cranberries

No need to argue - The Cranberries
What a horrible moment... I am sure you guys have known about the mass shooting happening in a gay club in Orlando, awful news that we keep hearing more and more often lately. Yes, the chances of any one of us dying in a terrorist attack are trivial and I think that the more we amplify this kind of news, the more power we give to those who commit these vicious crimes. Nonetheless it is worth noting that the most important thing to do, in my opinion, is NOT to respond to this kind of violence with more violence and hate and intolerance. I can just imagine how delighted Donald Trump and the such are at such news, which will surely be yet another consent boost. Let's not make that, otherwise the politics of terror will just get stronger and stronger. Be brave, be strong and spread the love. To everyone.

The ministry of social affairs - PJ Harvey

The ministry of social affairs - PJ Harvey
Not being in love (yet) with PJ's new album, I found this song ringing in my mind for a short while yesterday (or was it today?) and I think it really works well with the environment I am surrounded by: in the end it's PJ Harvey, and what is more British than her? Rain, wind and cold. Yep, that's exactly what I'm talking about, what I've found here in Riga. Besides a potentially quite nice city, if only I got the chance to see it with a hint of a blue sky in the background. Maybe next time, if there's gonna be a next time. Let's just roll with the music for now!

The ballad of El Goodo - Counting Crows

The ballad of El Goodo - Counting Crows
Here is your blogger / traveller reporting from somewhere in Latvia, north of Riga, which is my next destination. I am (supposedly) towards the end of my bus transfer from Tallinn and after plenty of conifers, rivers and grey clouds I stopped looking outside! The weather has turned bad and it's not expected to improve before I leave Riga in a couple of days, so hurray for me and for my rainy visiting! More news on my adventures soon, in the meanwhile enjoy the beginning of Euro 2016!

Busindre reel - Hevia

Busindre reel - Hevia
Tere, my dear readers! I am writing to you from Tallinn, the first stop of the latest of the countless trips I've been taking in this 2016! The city (a big town) is cute and nice, but it just takes you 3 hours to see it all, the old town centre at least (and I guess there's not much else to explore). If I were to sum up this one day visit in one word, I think I'd use chillywind. I didn't expect to feel so cold (and sometimes warm at the same time), to the point that I decided to behave like a local and went on into a sauna to heat back up my bones! Coming back to the central square I found a kind of folk music festival, with people singing and dancing to local, traditional music. It's been nice and entertaining, and it helps me introduce my latest discovery, which is actually a song most of you (and me) knew already, personally I just didn't know its title nor its composer, but I can safely state that it's one of the most famous celtic ballads (?) around, at least in Europe. Give it a try if the title/composer aren't familiar to you and you might as well find yourself saying "Aaah, yeah, that one!".

Wherever I go - OneRepublic

Wherever I go - OneRepublic
The fact that I am literally going everywhere in this year, and I am about to leave again, seems like a good reason to post this. Besides, OneRepublic are one of my favourite bands and... well, I'm not gonna lie by saying that I don't like bragging about the fact that I've been following them since "before they were famous" (if we can say that somebody out there didn't/doesn't know 'Apologize'), because I do. I loved their first album, and then the second, and then... well the third a little less. So I don't have hyped expectations about new music, but given the sh*t that goes around in these days, in my taste their pop/rock is still in the top 5/10%, even with the worse songs. Now they have released a new single and I suppose that in the next few months we're gonna get a new album too, so brace yourselves: good pop is coming!

#sundayrevival Unravel - Björk

Unravel - Björk
Scrolling down my Facebook feed (as I do multiple times every day, damn me) I found an article posted on Janis Joplin's page about 10 of the most difficult songs to sing; apart from feeling satisfied as I could count 7 of them among my favourites, I couldn't do without noticing that n°1 was one of my favourite Björk songs, namely 'It's oh so quiet' and I watched the live video featured in the article, a (great) performance of the song she delivered at Jay Leno. Given that I had already posted the song on the blog in its early days, I went on looking for something else to feature this sunday, and I decided to look back at what I was listening to 5 years ago, back to my June 2011 playlist. And what do I find there? Well, if it isn't Björk herself..! And with one of her best songs, probably my absolute favourite of hers. I think the poetry in the lyrics (and melody) of 'Unravel' is unmatched by any other song of hers, and that's a quite remarkable thing to say. I take my leave to this first week of June 2016 with this gem, which I hope you will appreciate as much as I do!

Move me - Lemolo

Move me - Lemolo
After a movies night with friends I am back home, it's not been a particularly significant day, just one of these good days spent with the people who matter. Some things are coming up in my life and the time to kill before the next big move is getting shorter and shorter, I am ready and willing to move on with my life, it's been nice hanging out and doing things for a while but I need some purpose, some bigger scheme to be a part of, some objectives, something to do, somethings that is going to MOVE ME and soon enough I should have it back! Can't wait, but at the same I am willing to enjoy at best the free time I have left!

Why does my heart feel so bad? - Moby

Why does my heart feel so bad? - Moby
A while ago I started listening back to some Moby and a couple of weekends ago I found myself reading an article about his biographic book that is just being released and I put him on in the car while driving with my mum to my cousin's first communion. The iPod in the car was my father's (and the car too), so there were just a few famous tunes, some from Buddha Bar and this one song, that I didn't know before (did I?) and that I found myself liking quite a bit. Following a friend's suggestion that was given quite a while ago, I downloaded the whole of the album it is featured in, i.e. 'Play', and added it to my 'Pick and catch' playlist, the one I use to collect all the new music I am currently listening to. The song of course went directly in my current playlist, and tonight I am sharing it with you, hoping that it can make your weekend better!! Don't forget, people are sh*t, so protect your heart as long and as strongly as you can!

Don't go no further - Koko Taylor

Don't go no further - Koko Taylor
Time for blues tonight, here I leave you with another great tune off the Queen of Blues's last album, I'm sure it's gonna be a great soundtrack for your summer nights, get on for a couple of moves with your friends out in the open under the moon, with fire lights and bright stars, enjoying a good company and having a great time!!

"You need money, go to the bank dear.
You need honey, look for the bees.
You need love, baby, don't go no further
Just come on home with me"

The ministry of defence - PJ Harvey

The ministry of defence - Pj Harvey
The first song off PJ's new album that make me feel something strong was this one, and it's probably been (and still is) acting as the (first) key to open the lock so that I can access the whole album. I suggest you give a careful listen to it, you won't regret it! What else can I tell you? I have already finished GoT's first season, as I was already telling you I understood a whole lot of things about it that I really didn't get the first time; I am eating like a pig and I really can't understand how it is that I am not getting fat, sitting down all day long... mysteries of life!

Drive - Halsey

Drive - Halsey
I started watching again Game of Thrones from the beginning, I've been meaning to for a couple years as I kinda lost the thread of the whole thing, and after a few episodes I am have already understood a bunch of things I didn't really get (or remember from) the first time. Plus, I booked my next trip, which is going to happen soon. Well, given the shitty rain and the seemingly not-coming-so-soon summer, what else can I do?! Yeah, yeah you're right, I could drive, I could think about all the feelings that I hide, I could sit in silence waiting for a sign. Good advice, yo!

Lately - Skunk Anansie

Lately - Skunk Anansie
Lately my life has been going on as usual, but also not. People around me are moving on with their lives (but also not), and I am happy for them, as I soon will be doing that myself (hopefully)! Tonight I went out with my wifey and other friends, it's the first time I see her since she moved to Padua as she got back for a couple days and it's been good, spending the evening together and then talking about past and present times up until past 2 in the morning, it really makes me happy, especially now that I am spending a lot of time alone and that I am about to leave everything behind (and this time there is no plan to come back for good, not yet at least)! I hadn't realised this up until now, so at least I've got something to think about in the next few days...

#sundayrevival I still haven't found what I'm looking for - U2

I still haven't found what I'm looking for - U2
You might remember that a little less than three months ago I posted one of my favourite U2 songs, 'One tree hill', just to celebrate the fact that I had just started watching the homonymous TV series. A TV series that I just finished watching tonight, and when you spend months with fictional characters in a fictional world, it's always extremely hard to cut your relationship with them and come back to reality, realising that they are not a part of your real world and real life. Or maybe they are, in the end this is the magic of movies and series and books, isn't it...? Anyway I found myself reading about the actors, their lives, what they are doing now and so on... I think it's my brain's way of slowly and gently detaching with the characters, and when strong music is linked to the show, listening to the songs is another great way of easing the end of it all. So I went back to listen to 'The Joshua Tree' and off that great album I am posting this one song today. Why? Because all the main characters have in some way found what they were looking for, while me... I still don't think I know what it is I am looking for, so I guess that this song is a great way for remembering that real life is real life and things don't work as "smoothly" (killings and accidents and kidnappings apart) as in the entertainment industry...!

Lucette stranded on the island - Julia Holter

Lucette stranded on the island -
Julia Holter
I wasn't planning on posting more Julia Holter songs for the time being, but here I am, and it feels right to take a few moments and share this one with you. True, Julia's music hasn't been utterly rocking my world, not as much as many other artists' work anyway, but there is a preciousness and peculiarity in her songs that makes them... I don't know, personally it's like I don't feel the need to go listen to them, but when I do it feels good! I am not very much able to explain this with words, so you better go and check out the tunes yourselves!!

The difference - The Wallflowers

The difference - The Wallflowers
I am doing my best but I really can't seem to pick up the rhythm again and start posting daily with a decent constancy... anyway, I'll give you my best when I do remember to come here and carry out my duty! It's been a while since The Wallflowers have gone out of my get-to-know playlist, and it's been a while too since this song got featured in one of my playlists, but you know me...! I liked it quite a bit and wanted to share it with you though, so I hope you'll forgive my delay!

Gasoline - Halsey

Gasoline - Halsey
Unfortunately unlike Halsey I don't run on gasoline, and that means I am just human and have things to do (which, lately, seem to all condense in short periods of time, then leaving my days totally empty after) and I forget to do other things, such as posting on the blog. And I also had the good songs to put on here. Anyway, musically speaking in the last few days I've been listening to Moby quite a lot (even more after reading an article about his biographic book that just came out), so expect more posts about him, and also I've felt my connection with PJ's last album grow stronger, so expect more of that stuff too!! Cheers!

The community of hope - PJ Harvey

The community of hope - PJ Harvey
One of the... well, probably THE most anticipated 2016 album (by me) was for sure PJ's new work, which was actually supposed to be released last year. Five years after her last work, 'Let England shake', which I didn't immediately fall in love with but which has grown a lot inside of me over the years, I was expecting something special. PJ is usually an artist who, over the course of her career, has made consecutive albums that were often quite different from one another, so I was quite surprised to listen to 'The hope six demolition project' and to find out that it sounded like 'Let England Shake' 2. I haven't been particularly positively struck by it for now, but given that it really sounds similar to its predecessor, especially in terms of sounds and concept, I am waiting for it to walk the same path. In the meanwhile, this is the second single (if such things still exists) released off it, which I have started to greatly enjoy lately! I hope you like it too!

There I said it - Adam Lambert

There I said it - Adam Lambert
Nothing particularly relevant is going on with my life these days, I have resumed playing Mario Kart 64 and I am trying to improve my records on some tracks, I am going to visit one of my long time friends in Lecco where she's been studying for her degree and where I promised I would go visit like 5 years ago, I have just finished watching a crazy Japanese superhero movie, quite entertaining and peculiar and very... well, peculiar (it's called Hentai Kamen, don't try looking for it if you are oversensitive!), plus taking care of daily routines. Sharing this Adam Lambert song with you, I am finally getting rid of all the draft posts that have been hanging over me lately, so I am finally free to find some new music to share with you!

Gonna buy me a mule - Koko Taylor

Gonna buy me a mule - Koko Taylor
When driving back from the sea yesterday I put on some blues music, in particular Koko Taylor's last album, one of those I am currently listening to. I must confess that blues music tends to bore me after a while, but I undoubtedly enjoy it under the right circumstances and in the right amount. A night with friends (or else) dancing off in a club or under the stars, a few songs here and there... it's a classy and enjoyable touch imho! I hope you can enjoy this great tune off the Queen of Blues's last record!

House on fire - Sia

House on fire - Sia
Back from the short trip to the sea with my parents, it's time to set back into my usual routine and start planning the next trip! But I'm gonna do that tomorrow, as right now my bed is calling out for me! Have a good night with one of the songs off Sia's latest album!

#sundayrevival Radio - Lana del Rey

Radio - Lana del Rey
Hello my dear readers, another week has com to an end and it's time for a new sundayrevival post. Today it hardly feels like Sunday, as I have left with my parents for a couple days at the sea (who the hell leaves on Sunday? Only people who do smart vacations! Or people who look for good weather). The drive has not been too long, just over a couple of hours, but at one point I felt the need to enliven it with some music; in particular I had this song on my mind (goodness bless this inspired week and may it have more of them to come in the future!) and so I put on Lana's whole debut album (under her current art name). The trip has been more pleasant for sure after that! I hope this song can make your end of the week more enjoyable too!

In this world - Moby

In this world - Moby
I love periods like this one, when I keep getting songs in my head, as I don't have to struggle to find great music to post on the blog! The problem only lays in me remembering to post them and finding the time to. Today I think I managed to, even if I had a few things to do here and there, such as coming back from Milan, a brunch, F1 quali, tidying up my desk to make room for new manga, shower, washing me and clothes, and I still get to have my Saturday night getaway (or get-in). This Moby song came to my mind after dinner and after immediately listening to it, I figured it would be a good post! I hope it makes sense for your own Saturday night too! Enjoy and have a great weekend!

Call me - Blondie

Call me - Blondie
This morning I woke up with this song on my mind, I'm sure I've heard it somewhere in the past couple of days, some restaurant or shop or else. I don't think it needs any presentation at all, so well... you can imagine how waking up with it makes me feel like today is gonna be a powerful day! Let's hope it's gonna rock as much as its premise suggests! Sing and shout at the top of your lungs, and if the world doesn't smile to you, you smile back at it!! Sing and dance and shout and run and express yourself whatever way you see fit. In your room, in the streets, at the beach, just don't care about what the world thinks and enjoy yourself!

Milan is always a great city to spend a good day in. Even if it's pouring rain and you have optimistically got out of home in your Vans and almost took your sunglasses with you just to be completely and utterly soaked 50 steps out of home. It's a great place where to spend time with your friends, where to buy entire collections of manga, where to eat random ice-creams, where to take amazing (random) pictures of the apocalyptic sky. It's amazing even when its weather behaves as if it was an English city. Of course it's a great city where to walk around, headphones on, dancing as if nobody's looking. Except when it's raining. Oops!

Feel you - Julia Holter

Feel you - Julia Holter
Among the big amount of new music I've been approaching lately is Julia Holter, yet another artist I have discovered thanks to KEXP radio live videos. Listening to her latest album, released last year, I must confess I have not been immediately stricken by her music, which is kind of ethereal and easy to get lost into. Nonetheless after a few listens I have been able to enjoy a few more songs of hers, even though I don't know if I am going on to deepen my knowledge of her music soon. What I can tell you is that for sure there are a few songs worth listening, and this is one of the most accessible ones!!

Willow pattern - Dolores O'Riordan

Willow pattern - Dolores O'Riordan
Today I have been working out a thing that has been bothering me for the past weeks: since I updated the OS of my Macbook, I have been unable to listen to and to transfer on my iPod the songs I had bought on the iTunes store with my old account (created with an email address that doesn't exist anymore). Not even trying to change mail and working with the authorisations did any good, so the only solution I had left was to... download the songs I had bought with that account. Do you see the irony in that? I guess that the DRM (Digital Rights Management) thing didn't really work out, it did not for me at least. The good thing in all that is that I got to listen back to old songs I haven't been paying much attention to lately. And I just realised I hadn't posted anything off Dolores's debut album as a solo artist since... the very first post of this blog!! I'm making it up now, as thinking about what this album has meant for me and listening to it always gives me a powerful chill!

Colors - Halsey

Colors - Halsey
Here I am, back again after another long absence. This time around my being away from the blog has been the sum of a pretty nice holiday in Phuket added up to not having a working internet connection back at home, which has prevented me from coming back to you a couple days before. But let's talk about Phuket, the trip has been fine, great beaches, super hot weather, not even a single drop of rain... I can't not fall in love with it every time, especially after I get away from it! The sunset colours in particular have been amazing this time too, and they will be in my heart forever, so what other song could I post if not this one?!
